SOFIA - AN OVERVIEW

In the Preliminary phases on the Crusade of Varna in 1443, it was occupied by Hungarian forces for a brief time in 1443, plus the Bulgarian populace celebrated a mass Saint Sofia Church. Adhering to the defeat in the crusader forces in 1444, town's Christians faced persecution. In 1530 Sofia turned the capital on the Ottoman province (beylerbeylik)
